From refugee camp to bestselling author - a powerful story of resilience, hope,
and transforming lives through humanitarian action.
From Nyamitaba Village to becoming a voice for millions of displaced people worldwide
Born in Nyamitaba Village in the Kivu region of Democratic Republic of Congo, I grew up in a close-knit community rich in diversity and unity. At age 10, conflict forced my family into a refugee camp where I spent over two decades.
Inspired by my father Rusine's legacy of kindness and community service, I dedicated my life to empowering others. Through Engineers4Humanity, we established Hope School in 2009, transforming hundreds of young lives.
After resettlement in Texas, I became a civil engineer and project manager. My book "Breaking Boundaries" shares not just my story, but the story of an entire marginalized community - the Congolese Tutsi group called Rwandophone.

Building bridges of hope, empowerment, and sustainable peace
As someone who experienced displacement firsthand, I am determined to make a difference in empowering refugees and immigrants affected by war. My work focuses on building hope, self-reliance, and sustainable peacebuilding solutions.
My Christian faith is the cornerstone of my beliefs and philanthropy activism. Through Engineers4Humanity, we live by the principle: "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

"Breaking Boundaries" offers an inspiring and personal journey of resilience from a Congolese immigrant and refugee. It provides a unique perspective on overcoming challenges, adapting to a new country, and maintaining cultural roots.
